I believe that everyone has the right to do what they want with their body (high five for bodily autonomy!).
And, I want to be crystal clear about one big way my approach is different:
We do not focus on, comment about, or encourage intentional weight loss or aesthetic changes.
This includes fat loss, weight loss, weight gain, muscle gain, toning, leaning out, or other goals that have to do with body composition changes or the way your body looks, except for those who identify as transgender or non-binary, where body changes may be part of gender confirmation.
Why? I recovered from an eating disorder and I want to create a space where body neutrality is held sacred. Where it's ok to be all the things that mainstream fitness tells us it's not ok to be. It's a place where you can feel fit and you can heal from what might be a complicated relationship with your body and fitness.
I fully understand that my approach to fitness isn't for everyone and there are plenty of spaces where you can pursue intentional body changes, this just isn't one of them.
Are you on board with the Genuine Strength approach? If so, please fill out the form below!
